General
All new students must sign a waiver prior to participating in a class or party.
You must use your legal name on your waiver — you may be asked to provide ID as reference. Class fees must be paid prior to class unless otherwise agreed upon. All students signed up for the courses/classes must participate in the class; no spectators.
Registering for drop-in classes
To secure a spot for pole, you must register for that class.
Late policy
Do not be late. Please arrive at least 10–15 minutes early to class, especially if you need to change into the proper attire before the class begins. Each class starts with a 10–15 minute warm-up. For your safety, you do not want to miss the warm-up.
If you are 5–10 minutes late you will be asked to warm up on your own to catch up, and you may miss important class curriculum. You will not be refunded for any missed class time and class will not run over the scheduled time frame. Please be respectful to your classmates and instructor — be on time.
In the case of an emergency, please contact your instructor as soon as possible.
Practice hours
Practice hours are meant for practising moves you already know. Do not attempt new moves during practice unless given explicit permission and instruction for that particular move by an instructor present.
Due to liability reasons, only A-Core Pole Fitness Centre instructors may teach at the studio. You cannot teach your friend during practice. You may, however, review what you learned in class with other students. Remember that an instructor is always there if you need spotting, and there are also mats available for your safety.
Private / semi-private lesson payment
Advance payment is required for all private and semi-private lessons, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon. Advance payment of 24–48 hours is usually required to ensure enough notice for our instructors. If payment is not received by the deadline stated in your email, your class time is forfeit and is automatically cancelled.
Age requirement
At this time, we do not teach pole fitness to anyone under the age of 16.
You will be required to have an identification card with your age and picture when registering for classes.
Please do not bring your children. We currently do not teach that age group, nor do we have a place for your children to sit and wait for you. Having your children at the studio can be distracting to you, us and the other students.
Studio etiquette
- No greasy lotions, oils or creams on the day of your class. Greasy poles and floors are dangerous! If you have dry skin, talk to your instructor about the lotions that ARE allowed on the poles.
- Please remove your shoes at the front. Only bare feet or indoor shoes are allowed in the studio.
- Jewellery is not allowed to be worn during pole classes (especially rings, bracelets and necklaces). This is for your own safety and to preserve the condition of equipment.
- Do not wear anything with rivets, hooks or studs.
- Respect our neighbours and keep the noise down. Music is fine, but don't blast it!
Behaviour policy
A-Core Pole Fitness Centre is for everyone. Once you enter our doors, all bias against gender, race and culture is thankfully left outside. We welcome members of all genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, physical appearances and abilities.
Student behaviour is important for the comfort and confidence of learning. Please leave any troubles you have behind before you enter the class, and be kind and courteous to your instructor and peers.
Bullying will not be accepted and you will be asked to leave with no refund. Every person has their own strengths and weaknesses. We aim to make this a fun and safe environment — we should all uplift each other to be the best we can be! :)
